
Dr. Liudong Xing received her B.E. degree in Computer Science from Zhengzhou University, China, in 1996, and was a Research Assistant in the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1996 to 1998. She was awarded the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia (U.Va.), Charlottesville, in 2000 and 2002, respectively. She joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth in 2002. She is currently an Associate Professor there.
Dr. Xing served as a program co-chair for the IEEE International Symposium on Dependable, Autonomic and Secure Computing (DASC 2006), a program vice chair for the International Conference on Embedded Software and Systems (ICESS 2007), a program vice chair for the 14th IEEE International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems (ICPADS 2008), and an associate Guest Editor for the Journal of Computer Science on a special issue of “Reliability and Autonomic Management” in 2006. She has been the Editor for Short Communications in the International Journal of Performability Engineering since October 2006. She also serves on the program committees of many international workshops and conferences.
Dr. Xing is the recipient of the IEEE Region 1 Technological Innovation (Academic) Award in 2007. Her current research interests include dependable computing and networking, reliability engineering, fault-intrusion tolerant computing, and dependable computing in wireless sensor networks. She is a senior member of IEEE and a member of ASEE and Eta Kappa Nu.
